Calella ground coffee is produced by the Unión de la Selva cooperative, an organisation that brings together more than 1,400 women producers in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. Founded in 1980, its mission is to guarantee fair prices for coffee, supporting the local economy and gender equity. On the other hand, WOFFA is an association of small producers in India that also promotes fair trade.

Both cooperatives promote organic farming, protecting biodiversity and natural resources.

This coffee is part of the CAFÉ CIUDAD Network, which seeks to strengthen the links between producing and consuming communities, promoting responsible consumption and fair trade. Through this network, practices are promoted that ensure decent prices and fair working conditions for coffee growers.
