The project Xarxa Escoles por el Comercio Justo (Schools for Fair Trade Network) The first year of work has yielded very good results.
The four schools in Baix Montseny participating in the project have had very good results in the evaluation of the introduction of Fair Trade in the schools.
The Montengre school works on Fair Trade independently, creating and designing dynamics and workshops that later serve as inspiration for other schools. This year, the third year pupils will go to see the mayor to explain what Fair Trade is, they have also incorporated Fair Trade into the CUEME project (on the creation of cooperatives) that the fourth year pupils do, and in physical education they use Fair Trade balls. This is an example of how pupils from across the school are working on Fair Trade in a cross-cutting way.
This year the schools of the ZER Baix Montseny have introduced Fair Trade in the general annual plan. All school activities will be carried out with Fair Trade products and the subject is worked on in different subjects.
The teachers have started the course by going deeper into the topic of Fair Trade. This is one of the main objectives of the project, to raise awareness and train teachers in the subject of Fair Trade, in order to have autonomous professionals working on this subject and to be agents of change towards a fairer world.
